Description

The Metro Washington Old-Time Radio Club makes its fourth appearance at the Packard with an evening of classic radio show recreations. Selections to include THE SHADOW: "The White Legion" originally broadcast on March 20, 1938. This episode originally starred Orson Welles and Agnes Moorehead. Also FIBBER McGEE & MOLLY: "Fibber Is House Sitting" originally broadcast on April 2, 1940. A recording of this broadcast is not known to exist. In between (after the Intermission), Thr MWOTRC will invite the audience to participate in a brief commercial jingle sing-along.

The Metropolitan Washington Old-Time Radio Club was founded in 1984, and is dedicated to the celebration and preservation of the comedy, drama and variety from radio's Golden Age (1926-62). The club meets monthly, usually in Arlington VA, and its meetings include presentations about vintage radio series and stars, and re-creations such as you'll see presented here. For more information about the club, visit their website, www.mwotrc.com.
